Still Standing neighborhoods are predominantly Black urban communities facing significant economic pressure. Incomes, home values and homeownership are low, while singles and nontraditional households are common. Educational attainment is limited, service work plays a larger role and poverty and unemployment are high. The segment reflects households maintaining independence and community ties despite a substantially weaker economic foundation.
